Trip to the Nubian Villages by boat

On a 3-hour private tour from Aswan, you can visit the Nubian community of Sohail Island. The tour includes pick-up and drop-off from your hotel or cruise ship, a boat ride, and tea in a traditional Nubian home. Learn about the culture and history of the area as you sail across Elephantine Island in a felucca or a modern boat. You'll also have time to explore Sohail Island on your own. This tour is an individual adventure. Start by being picked up from your centrally located hotel or cruise ship. Our tour guide or representative will confirm the exact time of departure based on where you are. You will be taken to a dock on the Nile, where you will get on a boat that will take you to Sohail Island. Depending on how the river is flowing and the weather, you may travel in a traditional sailing boat called a felucca or in a modern motor boat. On the way to Sohail Island, you can see the banks of the Nile as you pass Elephantine Island. Land on Sohel Island and go to a traditional Nubian house for a welcome cup of tea and to learn about the history and culture of the Nubian people. After you've spent some time at home, go for a walk to explore the island on your own. Walk through the brightly coloured villages and talk to the people who live there. At the end of the afternoon, everyone should meet back at the boat dock to start the trip back to Aswan. This tour will end around 6:30 PM, when you will be taken back to your hotel or cruise ship.
