Tour to the West Bank

Take a minibus from Luxor or the Luxor River port to the west bank of the Nile. As you travel, listen to your guide tell stories about the Valley of the Kings, the royal tombs cut into a mountain in Thebes, which was the city that used to be where Luxor is now. Tell your guide if you are interested in anything in particular. Your suspension and schedule can be changed to fit your needs. Enjoy the views of the rough mountains and make a quick stop at the Valley Visitor Center when you get there. Next, check out the rock-cut chambers and tunnels inside. Inside the cemeteries, guides are not allowed to go with you, but they will tell you what to look for before you go in. Walk down the colourful, hieroglyph-covered streets and look at the painted rooms that used to hold the bodies of Egypt's rulers. If you want to go inside King Tutankhamun's tomb, you can pay an extra fee. Next, go to the Temple of Hatshepsut, where you can see geometric columns that have been carved into a cliff. Find out about the temple's history and the life of Queen Hatshepsut, who was the first woman to rule Egypt. Look at the statues and hieroglyphs in the courtyards and on the balconies as you walk around them. Next, he stopped to take pictures of the Colossi of Memnon, which are two tall statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that used to stand in his now-lost tomb temple. Listen to the legends and stories about the statues and look at the Roman writings carved into the stone. Visit the alabaster factory before the end of your tour and, if you want, buy some of the hand-cut pieces as souvenirs. We'll take you back to your hotel or Nile cruise in Luxor when your day tour is over.
