St Catherine and Colored Canyon by Jeep
Early in the morning, Our representative will pick you up at your hotel and drive you around in a modern jeep to see the most important places in the Sinai desert. We took a car to St. Catherine's Monastery, which is in the middle of the Sinai Peninsula at an elevation of 1,570 m. This is said to be the spot where Moses saw the bush burning and not burning. It is in the foothills of Mount Moses, or Mount Sinai. On the top of that mountain, Moses got the Ten Commandments written on tables of stone. The monastery has been around since the time of Emperor Justinian in the sixth century. At the same time, a wall was built around the monastery. At the beginning of the eleventh century, the monastery was named Saint Catherine after Saint Catherine, who was one of the first Christians to die for their faith in Alexandria.
Then, go back to St. Catherine's Road, which is 65 kilometres north of St. Catherine. This is where the trail to Collard Valley, one of Sinai's natural wonders, begins. They are 40 metres high and just over a metre wide in some places. They are made of sandstone that has an amazing range of colours, from dark brown to red to straw yellow, because magnesium and iron oxides are in it. Later, we go back to Dahab for lunch, where we have time to walk around Dahab Street. Then go back to the hotel.
