Felucca Ride on the Nile in Aswan

In the late afternoon, a tour guide will pick you up at your Aswan hotel and take you to where the felucca is waiting on the Nile. Get on your boat and lay back on the pillows. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the Nile, which has been Egypt's lifeblood since the time of the Pharaohs. As you gently float down the river, have a cool drink. The felucca will sail to Lord Kitchener's Island, which is part of the Aswan Botanical Garden. In the 1890s, when Lord Horatio Kitchener was in charge of the Egyptian army, he was given the island as a gift. Lord Kitchener loved palm trees and other beautiful plants so much that he turned the whole island into a beautiful botanical garden by bringing plants from the Far East, India, and parts of Africa. On an area of 6.8 hectares, it has been turned into a garden paradise with walkways that look out over exotic trees and plants. It was later given to the Egyptian government, which used it as a place to study different crops for food and money. Enjoy a walk among the beautiful bougainvillaea trees and the majestic Royal Palm Tree, Sabal Palm Tree, Sonic Pam Tree, and Ficus Trees. Relive your trip and watch the sun set slowly over the trees of the Botanical Island, the nearby Elephantine Island, and the Aswan Tombs of the Nobles, with a beautiful reflection of sand dunes over the Nile. Go back to the Nile, and from there, take a taxi to your hotel in Aswan.
