When Nubians inhabited the Aswan Botanical Garden, they gave it the name Jet Narty. In 1899, Lord Horatio Kitchener purchased the island to use as a base of operations for his army. “The Lord’s House,” he referred to it as. Lord Kitchener oversaw the Egyptian Armed Forces as a commander in the military. Kitchener sincerely appreciated the flora and transformed all of Kitchener’s Island into a stunning botanical garden. Once the Egyptian government reclaimed the island, it was transformed into the Aswan Botanical Gardens.

The Kitchener can reach the island in three distinct ways. The island’s northernmost point is the primary access point, and walking king from the northernmost point to the southernmost point is the quickest way to view the whole island. To go to the island’s opposite end, call a felucca and instruct the skipper to wait there.
